Exactly! The relatively small price increase is more than worth it. Even the dumbest electricians usually manage to figure out that an RV 50 amp outlet is wired exactly the same as a modern residential kitchen range, including using the same outlet.
Not true at all. I have come to believe that MOST Electricians have NO clue as to the correct way to wire a 30 amp AND a 50 amp. Most have no clue as to the 2 phase wiring of a 50 amp and that EACH leg is 50 amp for a total of 100 amps. They usually wire a 50 amp breaker and jump the 2 hot leads. NOT a hazard, but is NOT what they were paid for and will NOT operate a 50 amp RV that has an EMS system. Doug
