On the TLA all 3 lights will come on ONE of them (The center on on the unit shown just above) will be extra bright.. And may go out depending on the value of the limiting resistor, Those use gas discharge tubes (NE-2 usually) and they are fairly hardy and tolerant of most screw ups if not left plugged in too long.
