240V split phase inverter

Does such a thing exist ? Yes, I want L1, L2 and neutral.

What are you trying to accomplish? Even the expensive Large motorhomes will have 2 or more 3000 or 4000 watt Inverter/chargers. They may even be 24 volt, but still use the same 120 inputs. Not Split (out of phase) that is 50 amp service. Doug
  • Don't know what his intent is. But a split phase system can use a common neutral wire that is the same size as each hot wire. A system with two hots in phase trying to use a common neutral would need a neutral wire with twice the ampacity rating of the hot wires.
  • The Xantrex Freedom SW series will do stacking-

Parallel stacking enables the Freedom SW inverter/chargers to double the AC output in inverter mode. Series stacking enables the Freedom SW inverter/chargers to generate 120/240 V split phase output²

² AC source must be split phase, requires Stacking Cable (part# 808-9005)
  • I use a Schneider SW4048 at my offgrid place. Super nice and very easy to use. Pretty affordable compared to their XW series.

  • Most split phase inverters are 48v or 24v. It may be hard to find a 12v model. Magnum, Outback, and Xantrex/Schneider/Conext all make them.
You may have to use 2 120v models and stack them with the appropriate cable and interface.
