Well I have a story on the topic of hydraulic levelers and yes it is true and I promise not to embellish. :)
I was out in the desert camping with my travel trailer stabilizers on 4 x 4 cribbing. This is a desert and there isn't much around so I was just sitting in camp relaxing.
A motorhome pulled up about 200 yards away and sat idling for an extended period of time. I could tell they were doing something with the levelers, but was too far away (and didn't really care) what they were doing. I was just aware it was going on. I guess I was watching because I felt that 200 yards was too close to me and I was hoping that for some reason they would not like the spot and move on.
Eventually they did move about another 200 yards away and finally settled in. Being the curious type I walked over to their original landing and could see deep depressions in the g
ground from their jacks.
My thought upon seeing this was that if they had some wood to spread out the load it might have helped keep the jacks from sinking so deep.
No whether or not some wood under the jacks would have helped, this post is at least about hydraulic levelers and not trailer stabilizers. :)
