Lay the cord out in the sun.
Work the sheathing toward the plug and it will slide right back in.
Before it goes in apply your choice of adhesive to keep it there.
I used JB Weld and it is holding fine over five years.
Gorilla Glue or some rubber cement should also work fine.
You can replace the end another day.
And if you must I recommend the one supplied by PI EMS
