I tackle most anything on my RV's. But past experiences with elec mixed with RV's lights up a little light in my mind that says CHECK FIRST!
Here is a pic of my 30 amp cord. Notice the end is coming outdone. The cord is not molded into the head. Just mashed in there.
Question: Is this a straight forward fix. Get another head and make sure I get wires right?
Or... does this fix if I screw it up lead into a posting next week that asks "how do I unscrew the mess I got into"?
(learned my lesson to ask after changing brake light and the wire fell back between shower stall and rear of rv, spend 2 days fishing the wire out.)
Thanks
It is a straight forward fix with a Camco plug. It's all marked very well and you plug the correct colored wires into the correct slots. No big deal.
However!, there's nothing wrong with the way your cord looks now and you really don't need to do anything unless you are an appearance freak! It will be just fine as the only thing that has happened is the outside sheathing has pulled away just a bit. If you want you can wrap it all with some electrical tape to avoid possible future chaffing but mine has looked like that for years and nothing bad can happen just because you can see the interior wire sheathing.
