I understand your point, and I understand that there is a transfer switch somewhere, but it is not an issue in this discussion. There is not a transfer switch in the 6 feet of 12 ga wire that was my concern, and that wire joins directly to 10 ga wire that runs back to the big brown box under my cabinet that houses the circuit breakers, converter, etc....
Now I am not disagreeing with you that there is probably a transfer switch of some sort built into this power distribution box in the kitchen, which I assume also houses the converter. I can't tell exactly what the wires connect to without taking it apart. It's working fine, so I'm not going to mess with it.
FWIW I took the same attitude on the 12 ga wire. It's working fine and is how Onan built it, so I re-installed it without changing anything.
