- gatorcqExplorerI use only Dawn Dish soap on my tires.

I had been using silicone with great success since introduction in the 60s. In 1990 I switched to anhydrous lanolin. Sheep grease. - EsoxLuciusExplorerWhile 303 is water-based, just because it appears to have "washed" off it is still providing UV protection. I apply it about once a month or once before I put the tire covers on if we are sitting for a month or two.
- Cloud_DancerExplorer III recommend 303 because I have my reasons. I've been using it since Y2K.
I agree, everyone can do whatever they want. - tplifeExplorerI'm an organic chemist by trade, and I only avoid tire shine products that are silicone-based. I also choose to use products that include UV protection. Can't hurt out here in the Southwest, where higher ozone levels in the air mean shorter tire life. You of course can believe whatever snake oil salesman you like, LOL.

Shiny tires are tacky. Clean them then use 303 to protect them.
Agree especially on a trailer. And it will only attract dirt/grime. Just use the 303 as it will darken the rubber and protect it (without the cheesy wet/greasy look) - larry_barnhartExplorerI like nice looking tires so 303 is what I do. I kinda wonder if the guys that think snake oil wax their trucks and cars. Not needed for paint so why wax? of course I believe it is yours and do what ever you feel like doing .
chevman - beemerphile1ExplorerNever use any petroleum product on tires. 303 is okay to use.
- cpaulsenExplorerHave used 303 for years on all rubber products. It is a UV protector.

303 is not a greasy kid stuff, but Tire Wet is :).
303 is a UV protectant. Though, I'm not using it on my tires - wheel covers work same well (or better). A piece of cardboard strapped with a bungee cord is all you need (and you only need it in summer and on South side). Or get a vinyl cover for $20.
I will agree that covering the tires is the best protection, but it does not work well when driving. :B
UV is present year round, not just in summer.
I have been using 303 since 1986. Still in the testing stage, so far so good.
