3500W Inverter Generator for $699

Ummm..nope, 5 db louder than champion by spec. Sportsman manufacturer rating of <63db and champion manufacturer rating of <58db. Either way, I can say that I can comfortably sleep with my Champion running 30 ft away from the trailer. I'm sure the sportsman is just as pleasant.

A couple of things don't add up with the sportsman....only 5a dc vs. 8 with the champion. Sportsman claims 8hr. run time at 50% load vs. 8hr. run time at 25% with the champion. The Champion does have a 30cc larger engine, so maybe that's where the differences come in to play. I've run the Champion allot longer than 8 hrs doing yard work. I load the Champion on the yard cart with a 100ft extension cord and run the yard blower and electric chainsaw. I used it in excess of 12 hrs last weekend without running out of fuel. Cut down 5 large trees and cut them up for the burn pile and vacuumed the remnants up with the blower/vac. This is on and off with the chainsaw and blower, but a constant all day run for the champion. As far as the TT goes, I've run for 4 hrs once with ac and and entertainment center running. Shut it off at bed time. Very impressed. If the sportsman is at least as good on fuel, it'll be a winner.

It is quieter than the Champion 3100i per spec and certainty quieter than than my Champion 3500/4000. 3500w running is what is needed to start our AC at elevation. Hopefully it becomes a decent option.

Both the red and the blue need some stiff competition. Until the "Big Boys" adopt electronic direct fuel injection I remain rather unimpressed by the level of technology they use. ECU fuel injection would save TWENTY PERCENT MINIMUM fuel usage.

Please keep us updated. I paid $900 for my Champion and my neighbor just bought his first TT and loves the Champion I bought, but is a ways from affording it. If this $600 generator keeps up, I'll point him to it. As far as noise....the Champion side by side with the Honda is only slightly louder. At a kw more output, we love it. Not knocking the poster or the Honda, db levels aside, there are reasons that we're discussing other brands, $$$.

Hopefully, these quality inverter generators coming down in price will grab the attention of Honda and Kawasaki and bring their prices down to earth. As far as eco mode goes, I've yet to use that setting on the Champion. If I find myself out on a cool night and just need enough power to run the TV and Satellite, it might do. Just haven't found a use as of yet.

I would only buy a Honda Yamaha or Champion myself because I know I can get parts if needed.

Ok, I literally just got my champion 3100 delivered today feeling pretty good about paying $722 total due to overstock.com 15% coupon and no tax or shipping cost. Then I see this. More power almost same $ this a little more due the 8 % tax to buy locally. I think I got a better deal either way it is great to see invertor gens cost within reach now.

we compared it with a honda parallel setup. noise was comparable, power was sufficient in both cases. Fuel consumption is still undetermined, still running on the first tank.
