I am sure one cell or battery went bad. Have rebuilt at least a dozen of these battery packs in scooters over the years. 4 new batteries are actually pretty cheap depending on which model you have in there. Most are 12V7AH and can be found for under $20.00 each if you look around. I would replace all the jumpers when you replace the batteries. I normally use the next size up wire just because.
