I bought 6 digital temperature gauges with remote sensors from eBay for about $4 each and I am gradually installing them in different locations to give me 100% accurate temperature readings.
I pushed a sensor into the AC vent hose on the dash so I know dash ac temps as well as in the house AC vent. I am also strapping one to the hose coming from the radiator housing and one on the radiator outlet hose. They come with a 6' wire to the remote sensor.
Nothing like knowing exactly what your systems are doing. The only downside is that they are not illuminated.
