48v system -UPDATE
Just for kicks I'm going to upgrade to a 48v system this winter. I love smaller wiring! It'll be 8- 12v AGMs in series-parallel. I'd rather go 8 -6v but these AGMs are still pretty new. I cons...

Things are kludged in right now.. testing to make sure all works. The Orion converter is in the foreground, Cotek 4kw inverter on top.
I was planning on finishing in one day.. but after 4 hours of work I was bushed.. crawling around in a 3' ceiling basement is exhausting! Had to be extra careful and follow my schematic so I didn't do any welding. I do hate that last connection spark though. 48vdc tingles a little bit, but doesn't bite me like I thought it might.
Oh, and air conditioner ? NO problem! Fires right up, no hestitation, no voltage sag. Ran it for about 30 seconds, nothing got even warm. I'll run it for longer and see what happens.
