I would bet, the 120 wires FROM the APU going to your Transfer box are shorted on the hot wire for THAT breaker that trips. You need to find the junction box that is close to the APU where the 120 wiring for the APU comes to and check it. I will also bet, it is a metal box and the wire nut for THAT wire has melted or come loose and the wire is shorting out. IF the issue was AT or internal to the APU, it would die regardless of the breaker on or off. Turning the breaker ON just lets the downstream short get to the APU. Doug
