50 amp outlet tester

Is there a relatively inexpensive 50 amp receptacle tester that is commercially available?

I could make one with a 50 amp plug, short length of 4 conductor wire, common duplex recetpacle and box, and 2 3 light plug in circuit testers.

What do most use? -- Mick

There you go, and now you have a tool that does a lot more as well. BTW, you should be using some sort of surge protection as well. Progressive gets my vote.
  • Those EMS units are pretty nice. I have the Intelitec EMS. Couldn't live without one now.
  • I plug in and let my PI EMS HW50C do all the checking before it allows power into the coach. It also will kick the coach offline if the power goes bad for some reason after connecting. Yes, it is expensive but it does the job and is a one time expense to protect everything electrical in your unit. Progressive Industries has some of the best support of any company in the USA. Oh, did I say it is guaranteed for life.
