I would encourage you to think in watt-hours.
A group 29 lead acid jar has about 1300 watt-hours of which 50% is usable.
If there are two in series, then capacity is 2600 watt-hours.
If there are two in parallel, then capacity is still 2600 watt-hours.
If an air-conditioner draws 1200 watts, then, in theory one may run about 30 minutes for each battery in the bank. If real life due to the Puekert effect, that number is closer to 15 minutes.
