50 amp surge protection

For pedestals with only 30 amp plug in... Can I plug my 30 to 50 amp dog bone into the pedestal then plug my 50 amp surge protector into the dog bone then my 50 amp service into the surge protector and be protected?

    Short answer: YES

Longer answer: The 50 amp surge protector does many things.. ONE is spike suppression.. Works better that way. (The rest work the same).
