Really appreciate everybody chiming in here. Sure looks like a lotta gotchas as to whether I've got a decent charge after 3 hours or not.
I'm not looking at getting the fastest charge possible (i.e., purchasing a converter with a higher charge current). Just trying to determine how much time it's taking my converter to charge my battery to an XX amount of charge.
Couple questions:
1. The converter was drawing 5-10 amps for the first hour of charging. There were no 12 vdc parasitic draws because I pulled all the 12 vdc fuses. Since the converter was drawing 5-10 amps (120 volts) and there were no other parasitic draws, it would seem the battery was receiving quite a bit of charge current during that first hour--at least 50 amps, right?
2. Are we saying there's no definitive way to verify the state of charge other than to discharge the battery realtime and monitor time, voltage, and current load?
Thanks!
