5th wheel hitch

When installing a 5th wheel hitch on a 95 f250 long bed what is the bed rails measurements from the end of the bed. I found the measurement from where you put the rails on a short bed but can, t find one for a long bed.

  • This link will take you to a manual that I used to install the hitch in a 1996 F250. It has instructions specific to the year of your truck. Although written for the L'il Rocker hitch, they will work for any rail mount hitch that uses standard spacing, which I understand, most rail mount's do.

When I did my custom kit from Curt, the end of bed measurement was the same for LB and SB. The distance from the cab is different. Now this was for a 2013 Ford with the custom rail kit.

You need to look at the rail mounts you are using and find that information.
  • When I installed my hitch in a long bed truck, I simply located the rails so that the trailer pin was about 2" in front of rear axle centerline. Seems to have worked well as I have been towing two different 5th wheels with this set up.
