That is what I thought too, so I disconnected all the battery cables (including the chassis + & - ) and leave only the negative on the 6 v house battery, when I connect the positive (what I believe to be the generator cable it starts to smoke. there should be no load, that is why I think it is shorting and may have something to do with the boost/jump relay that I would like to test if I could find it.
