I was looking at Intronics's website. They -seem- to make their products in Norwood, MA, so they don't seem to be another importer of no-name Chinese stuff.
So far, the Intronics MPPT controller looks pretty good. 80 VDC max for panels, so I can easily parallel identical panels (thinking 3-4 250 watt panels), or put two 36 volt panels in series. This will definitely help compensate for voltage drop through the wiring.
I'd definitely give it a try. Am going to subscribe to this, as this might be right up my alley when I start building a solar trailer later this year.
