as for grounding this is open ended as many decipher this different..
First thing to check is if the gen is bonded or not or floating neutral..
Use one of those plug in testers to see or use a continuity tester to check ground to neutral..
Post back those results..
If using for RV you want the gen bonded..
No need for ground rod to frame. The bond is all you need.
