i am looking for a led light for the camper. I had a perfect one and dropped it on the concrete and it lost its mind. :SI want one with 3 C bateries and a sliding focus capability.here is the kicker. i want one that when you push the button it goes from what you had it set on (hi, low, etc) to off. I do not want to cycle through all the modes.On the one I liked you could cycle the modes quickly to get to the one you wanted. When finished you could push the button and it went off.i got the last one as a pair and gave one to the daughter from Costco. They stpped stocking that gen.thanx

Tell your daughter there is a Factory Recall on that flashlight & you'll replace it for her. :WI'd almost bet if you searched EBAY, Amazon, etc., you'll find it.

Being an oldfart I need a flood light at night so I don't trip and break my other arm. But I've not yet found a powerful C or D cell cylindrical hand flood lamp. I do have Tenergy rechargable cells.

Screw batteries go rechargeable...

Streamlight Stinger LED HL - best little flashlight I have ever owned. Not cheap but also never have to buy batteries. Serious light output. Used by many in law enforcement.

Mex, made very sure you have a good charger that terminates promptly at 4.2V. But you probably knew that.

I'm a flashaholic, but I really don't know any C cell lights. The better quality flashlights use other types of cells. I like the Nitecore EA41; 5 light levels from 1 lumen to 1020 lumens, on 4 AA cells; on-off switch plus separate mode switch lets you decide whether to scroll through levels or just turn on-off.

I use the free led lights from Harbor Freight, Not the biggest of most light, but the price is right, I can hold one in my teeth if needed, I have 6 of them in my camper so one is always handy.

I LOVE the Ultrafire series, which of course I bought on Amazon.

We have 5 total now, with 4 being 2 years old now. 3 different types. All use the single 3.6v battery, which ROCKS.

Might not meet all the OP's criteria, but the criteria is kinda tight.

Consider this amazing 1 AA, 1 LED, $6 flashlight from China. I bought a few for friends and everyone was impressed. Definitely NOT a bargain store LED flashlight. It only has on and off, though.

I think AAA and C cells are cash cows for the battery makers, costing as much or more than the AA and D sizes, with about half the energy. I've noticed that all of the "great deal" flashlights with battery maker branding use AAA or C. Coincidence? Same principle as razors and inkjet printers and their refills.
