A new trend in RV fridges?
while picking up some odds and ends for our upcoming trip, we poked around in some new trailers for some giggles fire places and tiny walled off bedrooms? obviously rv designers don't go camping! ...

Last couple of weeks off-grid here at 49N in July, I tried to run the absorption fridge on AC since I have so much solar. (Pulls about 200w or a bit less when cycled on in my case after a mod, so that is 20 amps DC from battery bank by inverter for however long in a day.)
I have 830 watts of solar flat on roof and it could not keep up with the fridge plus the regular things, since first half of July here was unusually cloudy. If every day were blue sky all day, I think I could do it for just the summer, but not this year! so far anyway :(
So propane it was. That was with the OEM 1991 fridge, which is working well after I got it working right--with some good help from the Forum experts on that (thanks again guys!)
