That's is IMO the real issue. You want something whose accuracy is more than that you are going to measure. Also you are measuring air temp which is really not that accurate reflection of an items actual temp especially over short time frames like when you are opening and closing the door during say a meal preparation. You might consider gettng a unit like the pool ones from "AMBIENT WEATHER" and put the prob into a glass of water or even use a unit with a remote probe and put the prob in the middle of a bunch of the medicine like inside a box of insulin pens or a box of insulin vials, etc. That would give you a better indicator of what temp the actual item you want to measure is.
I have one of the AMBIENT systems that displays 4 temps all the time has temp/humidity, alarms and I think can be re calibrated by the owner. You might take a look at the various Ambient Weather sytems and see if one of those would meet your needs/desires.
