Thinking about all of what you said, I think low voltage..and other things, like age has taken it.
Our rear unit is a Mach. 16 years on the coach and cold as ice. They should have put more vents along the edges of the room too. That is another subject.
Our front unit or number 2 started with the same symptoms plus noise. heat portion quit but ac worked fine for a bit.Everyone said they do not make a replacement for the unit that will integrate with the existing thermostat and control panel....but Turners found one from Coleman that is a the next highest output and is even colder and more flow and quieter. Eight hundred installed or there abouts so don't sweat it.
