AC isn't cooling

AC isn't cooling. Do the typical rooftop ACs need to recharged with freon or whatever is used these days? How difficult of a process is that? Can a local car mechanic handle it or does it need to go an RV ice center?

  • On my old 2001 the RV shop installed a service kit to recharge mine. Worked great after that.

  • I have read that nobody can recharge them, no idea if it is true.

    However

Did you measure the VOLTAGE inside the RV when the A/C was trying to run? If under 110 VAC, THAT is your problem. Fix the voltage issue and try again.
