AC reset / delay.....is this normal?
Hi all,
I've got a 2006 Four Winds 31P Class C RV (...along with a 2008 of the same model). I've been seeing an issue with my rooftop AC unit and I'm not sure if it is a problem or if it is simply the proper operation of the AC. When connected to shore power or with the generator running, if I go to the thermostat controls and turn on my AC it will turn on fine as expected. But if I turn it off at the thermostat switch (or if I slide the temperature control to a temperature that is higher than room temperature to turn the AC off) it turns off and then it won't turn back on for a couple minutes (3-5 minutes) if I use the controls (or temperature setting) to turn it back on. Should I be able to turn the AC on-off-on-off-on-off with just a few seconds in between? Or is it by design that there is some sort of reset/delay that makes it so it has to wait a few minutes for some AC mechanical reason?
I don't have the exact model/etc handy at the moment (sorry), but I'm guessing my roof AC is very similar to many of yours if you've got a Class C 10-15yr old RV. I know my thermostat control panel is a Coleman Mach.
I had a similar post recently about swapping the thermostat controls, but now I'm wondering if this AC reset/delay is actually how the unit is supposed to operate in general.
I appreciate your time and reply!
Regards,
Chris
