AC Use With Honda 2K
Can someone explain why my coleman AC unit will not work with my Honda 2K? This is an older unit, I know the 13.5 dometic will work with the little Honda but the coleman wont.

- The Coleman Mach III P.S. (Power Saver) 13.5 BTU only pulls 11.2 Amps on start up. People report it blows colder than the regular version that pulls 16A.
People have reported successfully running one reliably with one 2000.
Not much left to run anything else though.
Problem is, at $800 you might as well buy the second genset and have plenty of power. - Two answers... On my Carrier Air V if I pull the filters and look up into the unit there is a label, On most A/Cs the label will likely be near here.
It shows the current draw of the A/C running 13.5 amps Same as the Advent Air unit that replaced my other Carrier Air V
13.5 * 120 =1620 WATTS. Add in the normal draw of the converter and such and you are pushing the limits of a Honda 2000i.
Second, that is RUNNING power.. It does not cover starting power.. Which may be higher,, (A soft start kit may help here).
Finally, I mentioned I have two different A/C. both of which draw 13.5 amps running, THe older Carrier is 13500 BTU, the newer Advent 15000. - Two answers... On my Carrier Air V if I pull the filters and look up into the unit there is a label, On most A/Cs the label will likely be near here.

Your generator is TOO SMALL...- To answer your question: Not enough juice.
