acceptable tire age

We are leaving on a cross country trip in a few weeks. My fiver tires are Goodride LT tires with a 3210 DOT code. I am debating on replacing the tires before we leave. I hate to replace them if it is not necessary and they are only turning 6 years old this summer. Goodride is a brand out of China but they have been trouble free for me. Any ideas on whether to keep these or replace them?

    Lots can be learned from a tire examination. It's at the point when checking the wear pattern, scuffs, splits, signs of heat or bulges, almost anything other than perfect is a good reason to say bye-bye.

    But, having said that, an internet search for Goodride LT tires will come up with even more information about what others think.

    Six year old Chinese tires? Cross country trip?

    Six is the maximum years I'd run a tire and certainly not chancing them on a cross country trip. Replacing them now will be a lot cheaper and better than blowing one out on the road in the middle of nowhere or in a middle lane at 60+ on a congested highway.
