A to D (4) channel data acquisition board
Horizontal monitor scan time (standard like a scope)
Horizontal traces all four
But the monitor screen is split horizontally
The upper screen has a 0 baseline with 20v max
The lower screen has a vertical scale of 50, 75 or 100 mv "The shunt"
As the test proceeds a green trace line starts on top registering system voltage
Concurrently on the bottom parallel red and blue traces also start. The difference (millivolts) is registering amperage.
A vertical register can be toggled left and right by mouse. It has full screen width toggle-ability.
The vertical register is going to intersect with the green voltage trace line and with the red and blue trace lines. Whenever an intersect occurs (meaning where ever), a bubble window appears transcribing the points into numbers which would augment grid pattern layout on the screen. Example: 12.88 vdc / 60 ma (let's say on a 100 ma scale, the value of the shunt you are using).
Area covered between the red and blue lines is milli-ampere hours, transcribable as ampere hours
Voltage is represented as a value/time event.
With today's software analysis, any segment, or combination of values can be compared against time elapsed. Time elapsed between selected event points could be expanded and analyzed.
Yes, it is a multi-trace oscilloscope. A storage scope. But with the proper software it can offer analysis tools that no scope on earth has.
The trick is (haha) to find the software.
