I am assuming that your Coleman grill has the same connections as my Weber grill. If not, you may need to modify these a little.
Replace the regulator on the grill with this ($15):
Propane Quick Connect with 1/8" FNPT
Remove the regulator from the grill leaving a 1/8" MNPT showing (this is where your Coleman may differ). Screw the 1/8" FNPT on it with YELLOW PTFE tape. Done.
Yellow PTFE tape is certified for propane.
This propane hose lets you hook the modified grill up to any propane bottle (except the little 1 pound ones). The best of both worlds.
