I added water to some batteries that were dead that were used in a power chair but they were already dead and they did not recover.
As noted with the caps off one could run Desulf mode on something like the B&D chargers, BatteryMINDER, etc and equalize, etc.
Actually I expect a working AGM battery yet dying in run time might be recovered somewhat but I have never had an AGM in that state of condition.
I do know new AGM's that ship DRY state to bring to a full charge with the caps OFF after the electrolyte initially then seal the battery.
