Again, I emphasize that as long as every day is sunny (which it usually is here in BCS), the batteries perform just fine. Fully charged by noon (or earlier) and down to around 12.3 or 12.4 by 6am. And that's having my laptop turned on and running at least 8 hours a day/night. My other power needs are minimal (fridge, LED interior lights, sat radio).
So, these batteries seem far from "dead" - just very little reserve capacity for those cloudy days.
