Adjustable Water Heater Thermostat

I have an Atwood 6 gal propane only water heater. The temperature of the hot water is hot enough to scald if not real careful adjusting the shower or sinks. I can't find any way to lower it.

It looks like Atwood sells an adjustable thermostat #93105 for $28.99. Just wondering if anyone has installed one and whether it lowers the temp enough to bother.
  • I installed one, and removed it. A lot of the thermostat is exposed to the ambient air, so it tends to change temp depending on outside air temp. As the outside air goes down, it makes the water hotter.

Installed the low temp 120 degree sensor (Atwood 91470), seems to help although it still seems too hot.
