Hi John,
Nice numbers. It might work for LI, but AGM still tapers charging rates at 95% state of charge.
Thanks for the info on the Instapot. I did not know it only drew 700 watts. 70 amps of draw is still too much per cell. I stand by the statement that he needs more battery bank.
It does sound as if he never wants to plug in. That leaves generator or solar.
Thanks for the comments.
I believe the Watt draw must be below 700 because he uses a 600W el-cheapo inverter. That cooker has several power settings and, as you say, a Kill-A-Watt is needed in place of estimates.
Using 600W let's examine the case when the alternator carries the entire load. The alternator should run between 13.6 - 14.4 Volts. Using the lower 13.6V to be conservative, the cooking load would be 600/13.6 = 44A. Adding for losses might give 50A. If the alternator carries the load then the battery's contribution to cooking would be nil and there is no taper of recharge outside the engine starting.

I agree with PT and others, it will be nearly impossible to avoid charging beyond alternator only. My experience is that I always was able to use up more power than my last upgrade. When you mentioned using tools I was seeing that possibility.
