Amigo MEX;
FYI, I have been working on creating an automatic solar charger by combining a Morningstar Sunsaver MPPT 15L solar controller with a Raspberry Pi 3 B computer.
The MPPT has numerous settings and can be programmed to a degree with DIP switches, but the real flexibility is found in the MODBUS communcation protocol when connected to a computer via USB. MS does provide a Windows program that is useful for initial setup, but cannot both monitor the MPPT and make ongoing setting adjustments on its own. This is where the Pi comes into play. The Pi is a 1.7W computer. I used the Pi to make the MPPT settings.
MODBUSI have a opened a topic where you can follow the project. Warning, there are images.
Project.
The MPPT uses timers. I would appreciate it if you could take a look and tell me if I need to use Amps as the switch to float. The bank is 270Ah with 280W solar.
