(Smog passed - new Cali plates on the van - expensive, and happy to be done with that)
HUGE thanks to John and Mex for all the help.
At this point, it seems like getting the Lifeline house battery and solar panel are wise, and then maybe the upgraded alternator (or get it at the same time. I am paying a bunch of bills and checking my $ reserves tomorrow).
I will still go back and sift through your messages to digest etc.
I have been looking at 100w-200w solar kits. Solar blvd is out of the 160 kits and is discontinuing them (I emailed them).
Looks like there are more options from around $160 for 100 watt to $300 for 180 watt (suggestions welcome).
Lifeline batteries - thanks Mex - I think I'll go with them. Rough range of choices: 100 ah is around $300, and 125 ah is around $400. Thoughts on which to go with there?
