Solarblvd has two 65x39" 24V panels for ~$150 right now. One of those and the Grape PWM will give 8 - 9A for $200+hardware.
If you want a more ideal system, I would take the 245W/24V panel and the Morningstar SS MPPT 15L controller with a temp comp cable(150 + 240 + 30 = $420). You will need to pick up in Norco because shipping is expensive for 24V panels. $150 for 1 - 2 panels!
I have two of these MPPTs where one is working with 280W/24V. They will treat your Lifeline well.
The MPPT can be customized with their free-download MSView Windows compatible program. The software requires a special adapter for $50. I don't believe you will need that. Others are doing just fine with the regular jumpers and DIP switches.
