Well, sure, it is unsafe.
But, yes, I would go ahead myself knowing it is temporary while you do the project. You have to weigh probable v.s. possible. Others may disagree.
Actually mine could be unsafe if there was a short because a 250A fuse is between the rear battery and the 13-15. I can't say for sure that the 6AWG wire could blow that fuse fast enough to prevent a fire.
I really should fix that. See how temporary works?
