I have a question re just how 'fully featured' is Grape Solar PWM controller.
In another topic, I have been learning how 'fully featured' the Morningstar SS MPPT 15L actually is.
One feature I have found to be important is the ability to hold the controller in the ABS stage. I ran the 15L for a week without any transition to float; only Bulk and Abs. I watched how the charge current dropped lower day by day while at the same time the overnight low volts(OLV) rose.
I am convinced that I had not been topping-up at all. I saw two consecutive OLVs of 12.79 then 12.82 when usually I saw ~12.6. As a result, I have adjusted ABS to a minimum of 4 hours daily for now. Float is for fully charged batteries, not sorta-kinda charged.
Does the Grape Solar PWM have the ability to manipulate both Volts and ABS timing?
If not, wouldn't it be worth the price difference to get the $420 SS over the GS $355 setup?
