What voltage did you see on the controller when the battery was venting?
They were always in parallel - I know the difference. Here's a picture. The wires branch off to go to the respective panels up above and to the left, and then to the right they go to the controller.
I'm not sure what voltage I saw on the controller when it was venting. We did a bunch of tests. More in a moment.
