Hi All,
Firstly, yes, I felt pretty bad when I dropped the battery and when I realized that I had fried it with 24 volts from the controller. I was moving fast on both occasions and wanting to get it done fast - which led to serious mistakes.
"L, please give yourself enough time to do things right, and allow yourself to experience and cultivate patience"
Questions:
1. How damaged/compromised is my lifeline?
2. What should I do about that? Should I contact the manufacturer or folks I bought it from (battery guys)?
3. Any clue why the controller would set to 24 volts (defective?)?
(Again, the panels were never in series - always in parallel. The starting battery (dual purpose) was connected to the deep cycle/inverter properly)
I realize I may be learning a $400 lesson here. I'm OK with that.
Thanks for all the help along the way.
I hope to get the new alternator on on Sunday and then the solar rack finished perhaps next week.
Yours,
L
