sometimes even a cheap inverter works well... 11 years ago I bought a 2000watt continuous inverter from harbor freight to install it in my service truck.
I have used it extensively and heavily to run drills, grinders, and lighting since then, and it is still going strong.
I just checked to see if they still offer the 3000w one I have, and they have one with the same specs, but it looks different...
the 2000w continuous, 4000 peak sells for $170.
it is my opinion, when buying generators or inverters, get one that is oversized so you are not taxing it near its limit, and it will last you a LONG time when its giving you all you need, and doing it easily...
