Yeah, I'm getting cold feet on the price of the Powerfilm. Problem is, any other solar solution adds twenty lbs to the 100-lb sled I'll be towing uphill, to say nothing of the idea of strapping glass panels onto a tippy sled. Even the foldable Unisolar is an extra 20 lbs, and as much as half the cost of the Powerfilm, which is otherwise perfect.
Thanks for the link to the controller. I'd be a lot happier with this project if I could find cheap, light, robust panels that wouldn't smash to bits if/when they tipped over onto a rock.
