You don't connect any 60W panel directly to battery. Doesn't matter whether it's 12V or 24V panel, you need a controller. True, low-current and low price controllers are usually 12V only. Some others are 12V/24V, including weather-proof models.
With generator you need to carry fuel too. And all your stuff in the backpack will smell like a gas station for several weeks after. Know this from using a gasoline camping stove.
