- Generally AGM has superior cranking amps, runs at a slightly higher voltage, charges faster, less maintenance, some resistance to freeze damage. Only downside is the price.

- Matt_ColieExplorer IIBefore the depression killed the business I did a lot of boat work in Western Lake Erie. I have found that rolled cell AGMs make the best starting batteries ever. Not long on capacity (don't leave the lights on), but little diesels crank better and start faster.

Expensive? Yeah. Worth is? Absolutely.
