The lower charging rate at the same Vabs would shift the SOC at which Vabs is reached to a higher SOC. It can't be maxed and in absorption at the same time, since only when Vabs is reached, absorption starts ( amps now taper.)
Note that "Vabs is reached" means when the charger swaps over to constant voltage at that set Vabs, not when the battery reaches that voltage, which isn't until the battery is full much later.
Your Magnum may be confusing you by the term "absorb" where that refers to a place in its particular charging profile that maybe has a different voltage setting from the Vabs it gets to in "bulk"
Here is my ugly graph showing how that all works (was with Vector portable chargers on two 27s) With AGMs, just shift the absorption curve to the right somewhat (If your test is the correct proof and not the other guy's test)
