I have the same surplus acid AGM battery type as Mr. Wizard--and they are limited to a lower charging rate than most starved acid AGM's. In my particular case that works out to 19 amps per 100 amp-hours of battery bank or very close to c/5. That is a perfect fit for me as I'd prefer solar charging to other methods.
BFL13, I would suggest that house AGM's be cycled from 50 to 95%, and that 100% would be even better. I'd base the stop generator charging on the solar harvest. If you have enough solar, stop at 85% just as if they were flooded jars. If you don't then go for 90% or 95%.

batteries in an RV are like engine oil, a job to do , but in the end ,, a consumable product with a finite life, i can budget that use, just like fuel
