I have AGM's on several solar CP sites in 2 states. They are off bulk and onto absorb by 10-11 am daily - and range from 3-8 years old, still running as designed on the original batteries.
The 3 85 AH agm's in my trailer absorb the entire 150 amp output of my inverter charger in bulk, not something I would attempt with wet cells. (They are rated for 5C - 1250+ amp max charge rate)
