Air compressor

For a bit more money, you could get one of these Hitachi air compressors. Menards has them on sale from time-to-time for $155. I have one and have used it continually for 15 years, running nail guns, filling tires, shop chores, etc. Mine will go to 150PSI (different than the ad rating?). Since it is an oil bath compressor, it will have better longevity than the typical oilless compressors.

Update.... Went to Lowes and bought the Porter Cable 150 psi yesterday. Came home, unpacked it, plugged it in and gave it a whirl. I down aired my 80 psi Bridgestone Duravis tires to about 40 pounds and then refilled back to 80. Wow, I was super happy with the CFM....it worked fast. This puppy is loud, but does the job for about a hundy! (it was on sale)

I have the same Porter Cable unit and it is a nice compromise between size and capacity. My previous unit was a 2 gal 100psi Campbell Hausfeld and it was pretty much useless. Night and day difference with the bigger tank and high quality unit.

I've been looking for a compressor to carry in my Toy Hauler. I have a smaller PC, but it has very low volume output. I think I'll give this one a try.... thanks!!

BTW... they sell these at Lowes and they have a generous return policy if it doesn't work.

I have the Viar 450P. If your RV is plugged into shore power just connect the Compressor to the chassis batteries. No need to turn on the RV engine. If you use it with the car battery you will need to run the engine.

Works great to top of my tires. Easily gets to 120 psi. Also love the auto shut off feature.

I would highly recommend this unit for its compact design and good performance.

CO2 Tank

High pressure, high volume, small and needs no power. I have the 15# but in retrospect the 10# would probably have been more than adequate.

For previous posts on this subject search this Forum for `compressor' or `air compressor' and read on.

Take a look at the Sears Craftsman Air Boss compressor. Its a regular plug in 115 volt you can run off your genny or shore power. 135 psi, very quiet, and very small and compact. Smallish tank but very fast recovery time. A bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for. I carry it and a Lowes Kobalt 1/2 inch drive electric impact wrench, 20 ton bottle jack. If need be I can air up or change flat on my own.

Are there any small lightweight easy to transport fast compressors out there that I can plug in while running the genny to power it? Not lookin for 12v/24/v.
